  • welcome to my site!

First off, let me tell you a little about myself. I have lived in Michigan my entire life. Through the years I've become accustom to the changing of the season, the overly long winters and the ever unpredictable weather. So what makes Michigan so great? One word: family.

Let me tell you…Mine goes from small- just two siblings- to something resembling a circus with my wife’s ten. Not to mention all the nieces and nephews, and my own daughter Julianne, the most beautiful baby girl in the world of course!

Life is always happening, always moving. Senior pics, engagements, weddings, baby bumps and newborns, anniversaries and portraits. After all life is real and it happens in an instant and I love capturing every unscripted moment. Smiles, loving glances, brotherly rivalry, you name it. My passion is to capture true personality. Pure. The real thing, just as it happened. There are no imperfections, only perfect memories.

I love the timeless look of natural lighting because the sky is a truly limitless background - full of colors and effects, but I won't let the weather stop me from capturing that perfect moment. Because family keeps on changing, just like the seasons.

    Good times. Good friends.

So what's going on with your family? Give me a call!

Happy Fourth of July

“The day will be most memorable in the history of America. I am apt to believe that it will be celebrated by succeeding generations as the great anniversary festival. It ought to be solemnized with pomp and parade, bonfires and illuminations (fireworks) from one end of this continent to the other, from this time forward forever more.”

So wrote John Adams on July 3, 1776

What a great day to celebrate independence!!! And the perfect setting to  appreciate the uniqueness of our families!

Last night some of my friends and family went to see the fireworks. It was pretty neat to watch my daughter react to them. After first it was really amazing to Julianne and then came the loud crash, startled her. After some reassuring words she was ready to watch the rest of the show…that is as long as she was sitting with one of our friends sons.

They grow up so quick, and with another on the way I’m glad I can capture moments like these to look back at them for years to come!

First comes love, then marriage…wait what about being pregnant?

Moments like these take me back to my years on the playground. The excitement of running without ever needing to stop, the pure joy of getting out of class to reserve your desired playground equipment and the unforgettable rhymes. So while reminiscing on the not so long ago past, I began to wonder…why is one of our favorite playground rhymes mention every part of becoming a family except for being pregnant?

Well, I for one, believe they left out one of the most important parts of becoming a family; the beautiful blessing of being with child. Of course, I might be biased…since we have number two on the way:)

Well enough about me and the awesomeness that is to come (hint, hint…lots of photos!!!). This wonderful mother to be is a long time friend of my wife and it was an honor to be able to capture this special time in their life. I think it helped that I know the couple, but you can tell in the photos that these two had no issues being themselves. I can’t wait for them to meet their little one for the first time, although I’m sure they are just a smidge more excited than I am. So excited for you two!

Just a stroll in the park

As a photographer, you learn quickly there are few perfect days. It can be absolutely perfect out, but then a little one’s temperament can turn for the worse. The weather and subjects can be perfect, but then all of the sudden the area that you are at is more populated than a public pool…

Somehow, some way, everything aligned…and as you can see this adorable little one was in a perfect mood! But who wouldn’t be with parents as fun as his?

It is amazing that I get to be the one to capture moments like these. Little smiles, small moments and cute cuddles…who could as for anything more?

It’s hard to believe it was cold not so long ago!

It’s hard to believe it was so cold in April. I rented an convertible and had no use for it…It’s no fun when the weather is weird.

Well, the good news is that it did not stop this family from capturing some special moments of their almost two year old. She was so adorable and loved playing with her family. It makes my job easy when a family loves each other!
